Strategic Acquisition Fuels Expansion in High-Growth Nuclear Sectors

ITI Group has announced the acquisition of nuclear engineering services specialist Noveum Ltd. This strategic move is set to expand ITI Group’s footprint in the civil and defence nuclear enterprise sectors, enhancing our ability to deliver comprehensive solutions to meet the growing demands of these critical industries.

With Noveum’s addition, we can now offer broader, more seamless solutions, from upfront engineering design and project scoping, through detailed design and implementation, to ongoing support. This end-to-end approach will drive additional value for our clients’ existing and future operations.

Bolstering expertise in a rapidly expanding sector

The acquisition of Noveum brings valuable design expertise in industrial automation and functional safety systems, complementing ITI Group’s existing capabilities. This integration significantly boosts our Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) resources, enabling us to provide even more robust support to clients navigating the complexities of nuclear projects.

This comes at a pivotal time for the sectors. The UK defence industry directly employed 181,500 people and generated £36.4bn in turnover in 2024, with 34% of that revenue coming from exports. Following the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, the government has committed to increased defence spending, signalling a period of accelerated growth.

Similarly, the government’s Civil Nuclear Roadmap outlines ambitions to deploy up to 24GW of nuclear power by 2050, representing 25% of the UK’s energy mix. This vision requires not only the construction of new reactors but also the safe decommissioning of aging facilities, areas where both ITI Group and Noveum already provide essential services.
