Augmenting a long-standing, successful relationship, ITI has been appointed as support provider for the operational data management infrastructure at Spirit Energy, an energy company at the forefront of energy security for the UK.

Spirit Energy has awarded ITI a contract for the service and support of their AVEVA (formerly OSIsoft) PI System, meaning they now serve Spirit across the full landscape of safety, automation and data driven operational technology.

Tim MacLaren, Head of Business Unit at ITI said: “We’re really pleased Spirit have decided to utilise our Support Hub to proactively maintain and enhance their PI System infrastructure. They’re a key player in the UK’s Energy Security needs, providing a significant proportion of energy to fuel homes and businesses across the UK and Europe, which we’re really proud to be able to support.”

One of the key drivers behind the decision to enlist ITI for this data management support contract was the technology company’s ability to balance innovation with integrity around IT security. Having provided robust safety and control systems and the requisite service support for Spirit Energy’s UKCS producing assets for over 30 years, from life-saving remote operation solutions for their producing platforms, to the reconfiguration of safety systems at their onshore terminals to extended field lifespan; ITI has more recently delivered significant return on investment for a number of initial digital transformation projects aimed at enhancing the way Spirit utilise their PI System to achieve specific business objectives.

Tim added: “Spirit have a strong sense of practical ambition, clearly demonstrated throughout each of our recent projects with them, and we’re looking forward to seeing how else we can help them make best use of their data to automate their operations and drive strategic business decision making.”
