The finalists for the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce 2023 Northern Star Business Awards have been unveiled, and ITI have been shortlisted for the ‘Staff Matter’ Award.

This significant accolade will be awarded to “the company that takes care of its people, from milestone recognition, providing exceptional learning and personal development to promoting the values of equality, diversity and inclusion so that its people take care of business.”

The Award winner will be announced at a ceremony in April 2023, where ITI will be up against the other finalists in this category; Acumen Financial Planning, Hilton and Aloft Aberdeen, Rubberatkins and WM Donald Ltd.

Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mills said: “We know that our people are our most valuable asset; without them we wouldn’t exist. In our industry, it has always been a challenge to find people who have the right skills and the right attitude, so our solution is to nurture our own and become an ‘Employer of Choice’. We aim to do this by ensuring that we have an attractive benefits package, a welcoming and innovative culture, and relevant career progression opportunities in place in order to attract and develop the best talent. Being shortlisted for this award therefore is a fantastic recognition of our efforts. Well done team!”

ITI’s entry impressed the judges by detailing a wide range of initiatives implemented by the company recent years aimed at attracting and retaining the best talent, in line with strategic business objectives. These initiatives ranged from a constantly evolving employee benefits scheme, to up- and cross-skilling our people in order to support both their personal development and our customers’ needs; to our annual ‘Valuing our People Awards’ where colleagues nominate each other for exceptional contributions that align with our company Values.

The Awards ceremony will be held in April 2023, will be hosted by BBC Scotland’s Fiona Stalker and will also raise money for four charities: Mental Health Aberdeen, Aberdeen Science Centre, The Archie Foundation and Kayleigh’s Wee Stars.
